The plot begins two weeks before the events of October 7 and unfolds over the time that has passed since then. Shiri Artzi and Yiftach Klein, a married couple both in life and on stage, present the everyday moments of the absurd reality of the last two and a half years of all our lives - candidly, movingly, and hilariously. They distill the material of this period's collective experience and examine, with a gaze full of compassion and humor, the questions on most of our minds: how do you live within a time that never really "goes back to normal," what happens to a relationship, to parenthood, or to routine when intimacy is forced into a permanent "state of emergency." Photo credit: Hanan Assor Shiri Artzi is a screenwriter, television personality, and author, winner of the Israeli Television Academy Award for Best Drama Series Screenplay for "BeTipul" ("In Treatment") and winner of the Minister of Culture Award for a debut book for "Botz" ("Mud") (Hargol, 2006). Yiftach Klein is an actor who has appeared and starred in dozens of films, series, and plays. Both have previously created work inspired by their relationship: in 2022 Artzi published "Stories from the Breakup," dealing with a separation within a long-term relationship. Klein wrote, directed, and stars in the play "Slide Evening," which deals with a relationship crisis, male vulnerability, and the connection between the personal and the collective. "What Happened to Us" is their first joint show, which they created and perform together.
