โฑ Duration: 93 minutes ๐ Language: Hebrew ๐ฌ Subtitles: in Hebrew When Literature Met Cinema โ Dani Dotan: Talk and Film on One Ticket. Author Hara Blau interviews writer, musician and filmmaker Dani Dotan. Author Hara Blau meets writer, musician and filmmaker Dani Dotan for an intimate conversation about life, creativity, inspiration, sources of influence, and success. During the meeting, clips from films chosen by Dani will be screened. After the conversation there will be a ten-minute break, followed by a screening of the film: The Last Click, Israel, 2023, directed by Dani Dotan and Dalia Mevorach. In the 1980s, HaClick was a successful punk/new-wave band that sang in Hebrew about social and political protest. After two albums considered masterpieces of Israeli counterculture, with songs like "Mom, I Don't Want to Wean," "Don't Light a Candle for Me," and "Incubator," HaClick broke up. Thirty years later, now in their fifties, the band members reunite to embark on one last journey together โ to do one more thing before it's too late. In the film "The Last Click," HaClick's lead singer Dani Dotan (who directed the film together with his partner Dalia Mevorach) creates and struggles for two years with the people who used to be his bandmates in the legendary group that broke up in 1984. He wants to return to the stage, to the protest he once abandoned โ but what are the chances that people who were in their twenties, and are now in their fifties, can revive their music and do something real? The film follows the rebirth of HaClick as the past keeps breaking in, sabotaging and discouraging them. It's a film about friendship and music, about trying to close a circle. "The Last Click" reveals the power of the songs and the one-of-a-kind relationships formed between the band members, the hopes and the shattered dream, the conflicts, and the sense of missed opportunity of those who were young rebels who destroyed what they had โ and now know this is their last chance, that this is the last click. 93 minutes, Hebrew, Hebrew subtitles.
