The Dragon's Rule In a timeless town, a dragon rules. Once a year, its residents are required to sacrifice their finest maiden to him — and so, for generations, order has been preserved. But one day a wandering knight arrives in town and decides to break the rules: to kill the dragon and free the residents. But is defeating the monster enough to free them from its rule? And what happens when the dragon is no longer just outside — but planted deep within the habits, fears, and choices of every resident? A brilliant philosophical satire, painfully funny and chillingly relevant, about power, obedience, fear, and our responsibility for a world in which we let dragons rule. An original play based on a screenplay by Grigori Gorin, a play by Yevgeny Schwartz, and folk tales. A stunning show for all ages. A show every dictator would be happy to see taken off the stage.
