October: Finance Month at the Discussion Club

💸 💰 Meeting at "Cherdak" (The Attic)! ☕️ The building at Herzl 23 is under renovation, but we've decided to keep holding meetups at "Cherdak" anyway. About a hundred people showed up yesterday — I think our discussion club can handle it too 😋 🔦 The staircase is being rebuilt, and lighting isn't everywhere yet. Turn on your phone's flashlight, watch your step and your head, and go up and down carefully, without rushing. 📚 First — the book, so you have time to read it At the end of the month we're discussing Morgan Housel's "The Psychology of Money: Timeless Lessons on Wealth, Greed, and Happiness." Why do smart people make irrational financial decisions? How is wanting to look rich different from actually being rich? And how much money do we need to finally say "enough"? Choose the format that suits you: 📖 Read the book 🎧 Listen to the audiobook ▶️ There's even an audio version on YouTube 🎬 And the next meetup is October 15: "The Big Short" A few people notice that the market everyone around them believes in rests on very shaky foundations. And they bet money on its collapse. The movie is great. I didn't catch every detail the first time — there's a lot of information, though it's explained pretty accessibly (especially Margot Robbie in a bubble bath). And the cast is a pleasure on its own: the best Barbie, Margot Robbie; the best Ken, Ryan Gosling; the best Batman, Christian Bale; and simply the best Brad Pitt. Plus Steve Carell.
