Country: France, 2024 Director: Diane Kurys Cast: Roschdy Zem, Marina Foรฏs โฑ Duration: 118 minutes ๐ Language: French ๐ฌ Subtitles: Hebrew Epos 17: The International Festival of Culture and Art Films. A stormy love, uncontrollable passion, and highly publicized affairs โ that's what the final years of the couple Simone Signoret and Yves Montand looked like. They were the power couple everyone knew, in France and beyond, legends of the entertainment and film world around the globe. In the film, Signoret is portrayed as a smart, independent woman, an actress struggling to preserve her identity and standing while her husband, even at an older age, manages to continue an impressive artistic and public career. Beyond that, she is forced to live in the shadow of Montand's famous affairs โ the most notorious being his romance with Marilyn Monroe. Despite all this, the couple never separated until the day Signoret died. The film succeeds in bringing to the screen the depth and complexity that characterized this relationship โ the conflict between great love and infidelity, jealousy, and a great deal of professional and personal resentment. 118 minutes, French, Hebrew subtitles. Screening and synopsis courtesy of the Epos Festival.
