Country: Israel, 2026 Director: Racheli Rosinek, Eyal Ben Moshe โฑ Runtime: 59 minutes ๐ Language: Hebrew ๐ฌ Subtitles: Hebrew Israeli Cinema: film and meeting, DocAviv Festival. In 1957, Israel completed the draining of the Hula swamps and lake in order to clear land for agriculture. The draining of the Hula was the young State of Israel's "flagship operation." A year before the draining was completed, three photographers from Jerusalem left their jobs, homes and families, gathered all their savings, and set out to document the wildlife of the swamp that was about to disappear. For a year they crawled through the swamps, built camouflage, documented the wildlife, and left behind rare raw footage of what was meant to be the first nature film shot in color in Israel, about the swamp that no longer exists. 59 minutes, Hebrew, Hebrew subtitles. A conversation with the directors will follow the screening. Courtesy of Kan 11.
