Country: Kosovo/Switzerland/France 2026 Director: Blerta Basholi Cast: Pina Matoshi, Vlora Bilali, Kaona Matoshi, Ilka Gashi, Kushtrim Hoxha ⏱ Runtime: 101 minutes 🌐 Language: Albanian and Serbian 💬 Subtitles: Hebrew and English Haifa Film Festival — Golden Anchor Competition Pristina, Kosovo, the late 1990s. We meet 13-year-old Dua at a disco, as the boy she likes finally asks her to dance. But the bumps and awkwardness of adolescence are only part of what troubles the shy girl — moments later, the Serbian police burst into the place and act violently. Kosovo is ethnically divided, war is looming, and young Dua, from an Albanian family, struggles to find her place. Blerta Basholi's film, arriving at the festival after its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, was written following the story of her own life. The director brings a personal, intimate angle to this turbulent period, aided by a fragile and magnetic performance by young actress Pina Matoshi, telling a beautiful coming-of-age story about a childhood in disarray. 101 minutes, Albanian and Serbian, Hebrew and English subtitles.
