Country: Romania, 2025 Director: Cecilia Stefanescu Cast: Marina Palii, Virgil Aioanei, Emil Mandenac, Bianca Cocolici, Rolando Matsangos ⏱ Runtime: 103 minutes 🌐 Language: Romanian 💬 Subtitles: Hebrew and English Haifa Film Festival — Romanian Film Festival Lucia is spending a vacation by the sea, in a small Bulgarian village near the border with Romania. Her husband, son, and a couple of friends all enjoy the villagers' hospitality, the sun-soaked days, the tranquility. Everyone except Lucia. She is melancholic, restless, unsure what's troubling her. Then Vladimir appears in the village, a Romanian man who knows the area and perhaps also knows Lucia, and things begin to change. Cecilia Stefanescu's debut film deals with the essence of femininity, combining strength and vulnerability, dreams lost along the way, and the ability to open one's heart and move forward. The director says she wanted to explore boundaries — physical, social, and geographical — and she is aided by a delicate, deeply layered performance by Marina Palii as Lucia. 103 minutes, Romanian, subtitles in Hebrew and English.
