Movement within tar is slow, thick, and resistant. Every step demands effort; every attempt to break free only pulls the body deeper inside. The work places the body in a space where movement becomes complex, breathing grows heavy, and the line between an embrace and a struggle blurs. Tar is not just a material but a state of being — physical, emotional, and mental. It envelops and entices, suffocates and stains, leaving traces that cannot be erased. TAR is a contemporary dance work by Eyal Dadon, created in collaboration with Tamar Berlev. Felice Ross's lighting design shapes the stage atmosphere and deepens the physical and emotional space of the work. The original music, by Gil Namat and Eyal Dadon, drives the piece with an uncompromising rhythm and pulsing beats. It collides with the body, channels energy into it, and at the same time sharpens the tension between outward movement and inner noise. The Eyal Dadon Dance Company was founded in 2016 by choreographer Eyal Dadon and partner artistic director Tamar Berlev. The company is home to 12 dancers and artists and has earned national and international recognition for its unique, powerful, and intimate movement language. The company's artistic work focuses on an in-depth exploration of the connection between sound and movement.
