Country: Israel, 2025 Director: Shadi Srour Cast: Yara Jarrar, Alaa Dakka, Shadi Marei, Jalal Masarwa, Rebecca Telhami, Khawla Haj Debsi, Mahmoud Suboh, Shadi Srour ⏱ Running time: 95 minutes 🌐 Language: Hebrew and Arabic 💬 Subtitles: Hebrew Israeli cinema: a Haifa Film Festival screening and encounter. In an Arab village in the Galilee, two worlds collide when the conservative al-Hawi family buries their daughter Fadia, a young student, while she is still alive. The Srour family, their liberal neighbors, decides to save her and hides her in their home. What begins as a desperate attempt to save a life turns into a jarring clash with deep-rooted social conventions, with the power of tradition and fear, and with the price paid by those who dare to defy them. Through a bold and gripping story, Shadi Srour places at its center a woman's right to choose her own path and the courage required to challenge the existing order. The film screened in the Israeli Cinema Competition at the Haifa Festival and won the award for Best Debut Film and the Screenplay Award. 95 minutes, Hebrew and Arabic, Hebrew subtitles. Following the screening, there will be a conversation with director Shadi Srour.
