Country: Italy, 2026 Directed by: Michele Mally โฑ Duration: 80 minutes ๐ Language: Italian and German ๐ฌ Subtitles: Hebrew Art Films, Opus Festival for Art and Culture Films By the time he died at the age of 28, Egon Schiele had managed to create more than 3,000 works: paintings and drawings, self-portraits, and a great deal of blunt female nudity. He was the revolutionary artist of the early 20th century: original, innovative, and bold both in his art and in his way of life. Schiele didn't only paint: he also wrote poetry and prose, and these, alongside his paintings, are used by the filmmakers to reflect the image of the great artist himself. The film tells the story of his life while creating a kind of psychological portrait of the artist searching for his path, focusing mainly on Schiele's complex relationships with the women in his life. In the background lies the disintegration of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, where Schiele was born, lived, and also died. He, his wife, and their unborn child died in the Spanish flu pandemic that claimed millions of victims across Europe at the end of World War I, in 1918. 80 minutes, Italian and German, Hebrew subtitles.
