The musical world of Marc Chagall, from Vitebsk to Paris and back. Lecturer: Sabine Yaacobovitch Marc Chagall left Vitebsk and arrived in Paris to conquer the world. The musicians, the klezmorim, and the fiddler on the roof built his musical world, rich in color, and Vitebsk remained the anchor and the home until the day of his death on the French Riviera. Bridging two worlds, we will hear the music in the paintings of Moshe Segal, the greatest Jewish painter of all time, who loved France so much, and France loved him back. Sabine Yaacobovitch is an expert in French culture. Born in Paris, a graduate of the Sorbonne University. From the lecture series: Tricolore, a diverse and unique look at French culture. About the series: The fascinating journey to the very heart of France as a cultural power passes through the quays of Paris along the Seine River, the domains of the painter Marc Chagall, and the influence of society figures on the cultural scene of Paris. We will get to know the women buried in the Panthéon of Paris and discover the fashion of the era of the Impressionist painters. An open subscription to the lectures can be purchased by phone: 04-8227850, or on site.
